Rogers, Samuel (1763-1855). English poet. ALS with embossed seal, letter "R", 2.75 pp, 7"x4", St. James Place (London, England), Unknown addressee. Good. Extensive browning and soiling on back, wear on right side; moderate fading of ink. Weak center fold, small separation at bottom. Letter to unknown friend [and siblings?] who were nursing their ill father, October 12, 1849

Scope and Content From the Collection:

This collection consists of letters, one Common Place Book, and miscellaneous documentation related to nine of the authors. The earliest document, Joseph Clarke's Common Place Book, dates from ca.1750 while the most recent letter was written by Henry Algernon George, Lord Percy in 1909. Most of the letters date from the 18th and 19th centuries.
